Two new Public Access Defibrillators for Silloth

Today marked the installation of the first two of eight new Public Access Defibrillators (CPADs) across the area, with units now in place at Barracks Bridge and Pennine View. 
Our original objective was to install four new Public Access Defibrillators within the town to improve access to life-saving emergency equipment. Thanks to the success of the project and the support received, we have exceeded that target and will now be installing a total of eight units, doubling our initial commitment.
Public Access Defibrillators are designed to be available 24 hours a day for use in the event of a cardiac arrest. They provide clear voice instructions and can be used safely by members of the public while emergency services are on their way. Early access to a defibrillator can significantly improve a person’s chances of survival following a sudden cardiac arrest.
The remaining six defibrillators will be installed at the following locations:
Hylton Park
The Crofts
Skinburness Road/Drive
Blitterlees
Beckfoot
Skinburness Road/Grune Point Close
Once all installations are complete, these additional Public Access Defibrillators will help ensure that more residents and visitors have quick access to potentially life-saving equipment when it is needed most.
