To ensure this website remains a safe, positive, and inclusive space for the whole community, all public submissions (Directory, Noticeboard, Calendar, Galleries) must adhere to these guidelines.
What We Welcome:
- Local events occurring within Silloth and the surrounding area or directly benefiting its residents.
- Listings for local businesses, community groups, charities, and sports clubs operating in the area.
- Photographs of local community events, landscapes, and civic life.
What is Prohibited:
- Inappropriate Content: Explicitly offensive, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or harassing material.
- Political Activity: Content promoting political parties, candidates, or specific political campaigns. (Official civic notices excepted).
- Unsolicited Commercial Spam: Repetitive listings or promotions for businesses entirely outside the local area with no relevance to residents.
- Copyright Infringement: Uploading images, logos, or text that you do not own or have permission to use.
Review and Moderation: All submissions are reviewed by Council administration before going live. The Council reserves the right to reject, edit for clarity, or remove any submission that breaches these guidelines without prior notice.
Document Status & Governance:
Status: This policy framework is currently operational to mitigate immediate digital risk and manage live community submissions. It is scheduled for formal review and ratification by the Full Council at the next ordinary meeting on 6 July 2026.
