Website Content Notice & Take-Down Policy
Silloth-on-Solway Town Council operates a “Notice and Take-Down” procedure regarding the content hosted on this website (including historical archives and user-generated listings).
If you believe that any material on this website:
- Infringes your intellectual property or copyright;
- Is defamatory, inaccurate, or breaches your personal privacy;
- Breaks the Content Submission Guidelines;
Please notify us immediately by emailing website@solwaybuzz.co.uk with the subject line “Urgent: Website Content Objection”.
Please include the following details in your message:
- Your name and contact details.
- The exact URL/web address where the material is located.
- A description of the content in question and the specific reason for your objection (e.g., “I took this photo and did not authorise its use” or “This business listing contains inaccurate data”).
Our Action Protocol: Upon receipt of a valid, clear objection, the Council will:
- Temporarily remove or hide the disputed content within 2 working days while an investigation is conducted.
- Assess the validity of the complaint (e.g., verifying identity, reviewing historical Solway Buzz records, or checking submission logs).
- Make a final determination to either permanently remove, permanently amend, or reinstate the content, and notify you of the outcome.
Document Status & Governance:
Status: This policy framework is currently operational to mitigate immediate digital risk and manage live community submissions. It is scheduled for formal review and ratification by the Full Council at the next ordinary meeting on 6 July 2026.
